Discount calculator
Find the sale price after a discount, and see how much you save.
About this calculator
Enter the original price and the discount. If the shop takes an extra percentage off, such as a further 10% at the till, add that too. The calculator applies the discounts one after the other, which is how shops do it.
Two discounts of 20% and 10% do not make 30%. They make 28%.
Common questions
Why isn't 20% and 10% off the same as 30% off?
The second discount applies to the already reduced price, so the total saving is a little smaller.
How do I find the original price?
Divide the sale price by one minus the discount. A 25% discount means dividing by 0.75.
